We're currently at #572 out of about 6,890,000 in the Google search results for "v7ndotcom elursrebmem".  Can't complain about that, especially since I've been too busy for the past month to work on this v7ndotcom elursrebmem contest entry.

The Search Engine Strategies conference in New York City was great.  It was my first one, and I found it really interesting.  I spoke to attendees who go to several search engine marketing conferences each year.  Must be nice.  I especially enjoyed having the opportunity to talk about search engine optimisation with people who are actually interested in it, instead of boring my friends with it.
In the next few days I'll come back to this v7ndotcom elursrebmem contest entry and try to make it a little more advanced.  Until then, please do consider linking to http://elursrebmem.wordpress.com.

V7ndotcom Elursrebmem Variability

One of the characteristics of Google search results that we see from v7ndotcom elursrebmem is variability of position.

On Tuesday, this blog made the visible Google search results for v7ndotcom elursrebmem for the first time, entering at position #880. On Wednesday, this blog didn’t appear at all. Today we’re back in the visible Google search results list at position #552 out of 2,730,000.

So it seems we’re doing something right and that Tuesday’s appearance in the top 1000 Google search results was not just some sort of fluke.

As we’d expect, though, the variability at the top of the Google search results seems to be less extreme. On the first page of Google search results for v7ndotcom elursrebmem, I’ve been seeing the same entries for awhile now.

We’re #880!

Or thereabouts in the Google search results for “v7ndotcom elursrebmem”.  Doesn’t have the same ring as “We’re #1!,” but it’s still a start. And not so bad given that we just entered a couple of weeks ago and are truly “underdogs”. So in the spirit of rooting for the underdog, how about linking to us? Thanks!
The important thing is that now we’re visible and can now sort of measure our progress. Now it gets exciting. . .

v7ndotcom elursrebmem reaches 3,240,000

Today when I checked the Google results for v7ndotcom elursrebmem, 3,240,000 was the approximate number of total results. The last time I looked (a few days ago), the total was roughly 2,500,000.
I also saw that several v7ndotcom elursrebmem sites now show results in the Google search “site:[site name]“, even though they previously didn’t. I haven’t been methodical enough yet to see how long the various sites took to appear, but I do know that today I saw a “site:” search for this site getting results for the first time (hooray!). Another one that I created a few days ago still shows no results. I’ll try to track it better.

Viewing backlinks using the Google “link:” search still shows no results for the #1 contestant.

And even the top contest entries still have a Google Page Rank of 0/10.

Today’s number one V7ndotcom Elursrebmem competition leader claims to be a “white hat” site. That’s encouraging.

Today I created my own wpblogs v7ndotcom elursrebmem contest entry site. As far as I can tell, it looks exactly like the “hello world” site made by the wpblogs team. When you create a wpblogs site, it defaults with links to the wpblogs and wordpress developers. I’ll let it sit for a little while just to see if anything happens to it.In the meantime, might I suggest that you place a link to this blog on your own site? Do it for the karma. Thanks!

Today it occurred to me that a V7ndotcom Elursrebmem site that takes a storefront approach might do well. I enjoyed today’s #1 site: a pyramid-style “Grand V7ndotcom Elursrebmem Hotel”. Very amusing.

It’s been a little less than two days, and this site doesn’t yet appear in the Google search engine page results at all. Curiously, there is another WordPress V7ndotcom Elursrebmem blog (v7ndotcomelursrebmem.wpblogs.com created 23 January by the folks at wordpressblogs.com) that appears in the Google results (approximately #429), but it has only the original WordPress “hello world” post and the original WordPress comment. However, it does contain links to eight other blogs (developers of WordPressblogs and WordPress). Haven’t looked for its backlinks yet.

Having joined the V7ndotcom Elursrebmem contest relatively late in the game, I’m not surprised to see that this site is not yet ranking well. It does not yet show up in the top 1000 or so Google results. I will continue to work on it and keep you posted.
